The practice was formed in 1985 and can now boast a long-standing talented team with wide and varied experience of projects for individual clients, public authorities and commercial bodies, using Quality Management techniques.

Our professional service is achieved by people with an age mix ranging from Architects with 40 years of accumulated knowledge, to recent graduates with fresh enthusiasm and skills. We use traditional and new technologies backed by the RIBA programme of Continuing Professional Development.

SWA Architects have carried out projects across the whole range of building types, and much of our experience has involved work to "live" buildings which have required particularly careful client liaison and co-ordination. We are equally familiar in dealing with contemporary design or the sensitive handling of work to Listed Buildings or in Conservation Areas.

We are passionate about architecture and are aware of our responsibility to cherish our heritage and to contribute to it in a way which enhances its quality. Sustainability is a priority for SWA Architects and we will always encourage our clients to respect the natural environment and allow us to incorporate ecologically friendly design in our buildings.
